When seasons change, we tend to want to change up our look. In fact, research indicates that a woman will change her hairstyle 150 times in her lifetime. So if your winter beauty game includes switching up your hair color, you’re in luck! We asked our friends at Barely Xtensions to get all the info you need to have the hottest hair color this fall and winter!
“This season hair color is all about having a natural color placement with hints of warm and spicy or cool and icy. It’s all about warm blondes, smoky browns, natural reds and icy platinum. You can even add Barely Xtensions for added dimension if you want to give your hair a break from processing it,” says Jennifer Hutchens, Brand & Product Development Director at Barely Xtensions.
Here are the top five hair colors worth trying for fall and winter:
Ice Blonde
Ice, Ice Baby! If you want to make a statement this winter, this is the way to go! Take it cooler with a striking blend of ice blonde with hues of silver to match the icy weather!
If you’re wondering where this trend came from, think Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones. It might be hard to imagine that a fantasy character starting a fashion trend, but the Ice Blonde is proof!
Smoky Tones
This perfectly blended earth tone is a cool-toned ashy gray approach to hair color. It’s monochromatic finish just might be our favorite yet! Keep it on the lighter side by adding lowlights or take it all the way dark by taking fully brown. Just be sure to stick to only cool to neutral brown and blonde shades to get the earthy tint.
Spiced Brunette
For some of us, brunette can be, well, boring. But adding a variety of warm highlights gives it radiance and dimension. To keep it spicy, stay away from blonde and choose subtle caramel, copper and red hues.
Flannel Warmth
Just like a flannel shirt on a cool day, we are inspired by deep, rich shades of copper, auburn, and red to mimic a warm flannel shirt. It’s all about mixing the colors together adding pops of brighter red and copper to a deep red base.
Deep Espresso
Take a shot with espresso! Brunettes are starting to lean towards ultra-dark espresso tones that can look striking on a variety of complexions. You can take it new generation with ashy and cool-toned colors or stay traditional with warm chocolate hues that will never go out of style.
Still unsure if this hair color is sexy? Think Camila Mendes’ Veronica Lodge in “Riverdale.” This new show from CW is turning out to be the next fashion trendsetter.
