LOS ANGELES, Jun 17, 2011 /— OPI Products Inc. revealed the four shades in its collaboration with Miss Universe Organization on Tuesday.
Fifty-one Miss USA contestants, along with the reigning Miss USA Rima Fakih and the reigning Miss Universe Ximena Navarrete, joined the evening’s host, Miss USA 2007 and host of ABC’s “On the Red Carpet” Rachel Smith, in unveiling four shades packed with shimmer and sparkle.
The event was hosted at Color, A Salon by Michael Boychuck at Caesars Palace Las Vegas. Caesars Palace lead mixologist Eddie Perales and executive chef Charles Wilson respectively created cocktails and hors d’oeuvres themed to correspond with each launching shade.
Miss Universe by OPI includes the following high-shine lacquers:
Congeniality is My Middle Name (And berry-wine shimmer is what I do best!)
It’s MY Year (It’s about time for this champagne-rose to shine!)
Swimsuit…Nailed It! (An itsy bitsy teenie weenie vibrant shiny-blue bikini.)
Crown Me Already! (A sassy silver sparkle that knows what it’s worth.)
“Having the Miss USA contestants pull off their gloves to reveal the Miss Universe lacquers was the perfect way to launch such show stopping shades,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “With colors ranging from berry and golden pink to electric blue and glittery silver, Miss Universe by OPI captures the energy and glamour found at its namesake competition.”
Lacquers will be available beginning August 2011 at professional salons.
In addition to launching these products, Weiss-Fischmann will be a judge at the 2011 MISS USA® Pageant telecast live on Sunday, June 19 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winner of Miss USA will go on to compete in the MISS UNIVERSE® competition on September 12, 2011, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
