If last season was all about “Fifty Shades of Grey” for Mathieu Mirano, then Fall 2014 can be “Sons of Anarchy” with the designer bringing the hard-edge qualities of a biker gang to the refined world of the elite.
Mathieu Mirano’s creations are never for the faint of heart. It is meant of a strong woman who does not mind the center of attention. And for Fall 2014, the Mathieu Mirano woman is fused with the rough & tumble while keeping her Fifth Avenue countenance.
She will also find herself wearing predominantly black, softened only with white or gunmetal silver. The silhouettes have been inspired by draperies by Bernini and thus they look like flattened sculptures. From each angle, you see something different. Case in point is Look #3, a black bonded leather and wool cashmere facet dress.
Leather is a favorite and so is fur. Luxurious materials have become multidimensional so as to represent the complexity and depth of the Mathieu Mirano woman.
