NEW YORK, Feb 20, 2015/ — Lie Sangbong has the best coats for the season! That was the first thing that came to mind after seeing the collection on Wednesday, February 18th.
Titled “Oriental Ink”, Mr. Lie found inspiration in the juxtaposition of the clean lines of the drawings in oriental ink paintings of peonies.
“I wanted to focus on subtlety and to explore the mixing and matching of classic autumnal fabrics in new and fresh ways,” said Mr. Lie.
The result, clean and sharp silhouettes that highlights Lie Sangbong’s mastery of construction and multi-dimensional fabrications!
The Fall/Winter collection features deceptively minimal, linear silhouettes that emphasize the waist. A color palate of camel, navy, burgundy and grey is punctuated with graphic red, black and white.
Bringing down the house are the precisely tailored coats which offered utility while staying on top of fashion and style!
When asked why he chose simple lines this season, Mr. Lie commented, “I think women are looking toward minimalism and simplicity, but with playful, veiled contrasts to add uniqueness and individuality.”
