On Tuesday, February 11th, at the Industria Studio, Jenny Packham unveiled a 1970s inspired Fall 2014 collection for her eponymous label.
Think of Bianca Jagger in the 1970s! As the UK-based designer said in her press notes, Bianca Jagger inspired her Fall 2014 collection. With palazzo pants gracing the catwalk, the 1970s influence was very evident.
Giving a nod to the metallic trend that has dominated New York Fashion Week, Jenny Packham also sent shimmering gowns, floor-length skirts and blouses on the catwalk. And somehow, it was easy to imagine a reference to the disco ball.
But, don’t worry, there was never a sign of Saturday Night Fever. In fact, the reference to the 1970s is via the elegant Bianca Jagger. And in the risk of sounding like a cliché and using the most overused word in fashion, the Jenny Packhan Fall 2014 collection is chic personified.
