PARIS, Jan 21, 2014/ — In his press notes, Georges Hobeika said that his spring/Summer 2014 couture collection “promises to be a fantasy where silence is golden and a forest of illusions enchants,” which incidentally brings us to fairytale land.
The fairytale… It has left the books and the child’s bedroom to encroach on television and Broadway. With the continuing popularity of ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” and the critical acclaim of “Cinderella” on Broadway, fantasy has infringed on reality.
Playing on that current zeitgeist, Georges Hobeika dressed the modern day and very real Cinderella, Snow White and Sleeping Beauty; in short the inner Princess inside every woman.
For her, Georges Hobeika created a dress that dress manifests itself in hybrid form, as bright structure blends with botanical beauty. Leaves finely embroider organza on delicate lace, and white jackets bloom in multicolored leaflets or with the fluidity of tone on tone.
A breath of fresh air, the collection was born under the sign of purity, its color palette is nature’s blend of pastel powder pink, lemon yellow, peach, pistachio.
Can a girl ask for more?
