NEW YORK, Jun 4, 2014/ — For Pre-Spring 2015, Derek Lam takes us back to the 1970s when leisure suit was a fad and John Travolta’s Tony Manero of “Saturday Night Fever” was everyone’s hero.
Taking a handy cue from the 1970s, Derek Lam polished the much maligned leisure suit and turned them into sporty and relaxed tailored dresses.
Colorblocked pant suit sets with techno rib detailing w proposed together with lots of denim and heather grey cashmere jersey.
Wool crepe, cashmere doeskin, leather and suede are making a virtue of a season which is transitional with season-less cloths. The silhouette is kept fresh in combinations of sky, marine navy and Yves Klein blue or orange, burgundy and camel.
A woven plaid and a paisley jacquard go into the mix. Lots of neat tailoring, makes it crisp.
