She walks in beauty, like the night,
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
Elegance personified is the phrase that comes to mind when describing the Carmen Marc Valvo Fall 2014 collection.
With black as the predominant color and interspersed with autumn shades of blue, orange and red, Lord Byron’s poem “She Walks in Beauty”, truly fits.
And all that’s best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Still, though the Carmen Marc Valvo woman will remain to be an uptown girl, there is also a rebellious part of her that wants to go downtown, even to Brooklyn. Check out the slim fitting leather cigarette pants paired with the black & white tunic blouse, and the look finished off with a red winter coat.
It’s not necessarily industrial, or a bad girl look… which by the way brings us to Lord Byron’s next line:
One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
The Fall 2014 Carmen Marc Valvo woman might not be Lord Byron’s muse, yet it is easy to imagine that if the poet is alive today, he could sit front row and write the poem as his review!
