Expanding from her “Guest Womenswear Designer” capsule collection at Pitti Uomo, Brazilian designer Barbara Casasola translated her signature mi-dress silhouettes into combinations of separates for her Winter 2014 collection.
The theme is sensuality and intimacy as seen in Casasola’s proposal of lush colors that are set against make-up nudes and black. Pure silks, virgin wools and technical weaves are employed throughout, contrasting solids and transparencies as well as matte and polished finishes.
Drawing from a visual language of opposites: concrete vs. nature; modernist vs. baroque; high vs. low, the Brazilian designer then created a restrained exuberance in the collection.
