“It`s like walking on a ridge, balancing between the explosiveness of our past and the serenity of our future.”
For Y/PROJECT FW15, Glenn Martens continues to explore the fine border between youth and adulthood. By opposing architectural cuts with comfortable fits, graphic tailoring with urban streetwear, technical highlight with a nostalgic fundament, Y/PROJECT continues to thrive on transcendent versatility.
For his third season as creative director of Y/PROJECT, Martens features a fascinating juxtaposition of classic and tech fabrics creating graphic Op-‐Art effects by mixing materials like Harris & hounds tooth tweed with hologram latex and vinyl featured in a color palette of subdued neutral tones like camel, grey and midnight blue with flashes of silver, red and black.
Tweed track pants, sleek vinyl suits & scooter jackets, easy wool bombers with shearling lining, vegetally treated leather trench coats with jean jacket paneling, knitwear with leather details… The Y/PROJECT AW15 collection is a twist of futuristic hip-‐hop and classical elegance. Following in line with the hip hop vibe, the Y/PROJECT Jewelry line debuts with logo rings and belt buckles.
