NEW YORK, Feb 21, 2015/ — Playing on the glamorous mystique of the 1920s, Monique Lhuillier took elements from menswear and cleverly crafted them to mix with very feminine silhouettes and thus creating sultry looks that are red carpet worthy.
Giving a nod to the metallic trend this season, Ms. Lhuillier sent out rich jewel tones – radiant emerald, cobalt, deep violet and teal. Vanishing black from the runway and replacing it with deep plum and midnight, Monique then used hues of moss and ochre to create drama.
Tailored silhouettes seen in midcalf skirts, cigarette pants and structured jackets were softened by draped blouses and liquid satin creating a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine shapes resulting to a sensual fit.
Fall 2015 also marked the launch of the Monique Lhuillier shoes and bags collection. Sandals, boots, booties and pumps are cut to flatter in rich leathers and textiles with sculpted metal detailing.
