NEW YORK, Feb 13, 2015/ — With a capacity crowd at the Ed’s Chowder House at the Empire Hotel, Emily Saunders presented her Fall 2015 collection that proposes silhouettes that sway from romantic and feminine to masculine tailoring.
Inspired by Hilary Mantel’s historical novels ‘Wolf Hall’ & ‘Bring Up the Bodies’ which tell the behind the scenes story of Henry VIII’s split from his first wife Catherine and subsequent split with Rome, the collection gives a modern take on Tudor fashions and times.
Rich and textured with many nods to traditional Anglo fabrics such as tweeds and tartans,tThe silhouettes sway from romantic and feminine to masculine tailoring.
The collection also includes Modern Tudor accessories collection by Megan Isaacs. Modern Tudor marks the fourth collaboration between fashion designer Emily Saunders and jewelry designer Megan Isaacs.
Inspired by the fashions and times of Henry the Eighth, the FW15 collection focuses on mixing textures and materials using hematite, pearl, and stud like motifs in gold, silver, and gunmetal plating.
