The saying “you get what you pay for” is certainly true when it comes to luggage and of course if you want to get the latest look you may have to pay a little more. But purchasing good travel luggage is an investment that will pay off over the long-term.
High quality bags and cases not only look stylish but will be durable enough to last for years. In 2015 the latest travel luggage for men is all about the designer man bags, holdalls and even handbags.
Carry-on option
The catwalks of Paris, London and New York have been awash with men’s shoulder bags and the man bag seems set to make a comeback in a big way. Stylish shoulder bags include leather and faux leather in dark brown and black with the necessary long shoulder strap for easy carrying. These bags are one of the best ways to carry equipment when traveling, such as laptops and tablets. They’re also an essential piece of ‘carry-on’ luggage that you can easily stow away in overhead flight lockers.
The new bag for men
Like it or not, the latest fashion luggage accessory for men when traveling abroad is the over-sized handbag. These are simply an updated version of the traditional large-handled, hand-held holdall. The designs have become bolder, including anything from a Union Jack to printed designs with travel-themed words such as “move” or “adventure” stitched to the exterior. These will definitely make an impression when you’re on the go and they exude a fun, funky and youthful quality.
Larger luggage options
A carry-on bag may be the only thing needed for a weekend city break but for a longer vacation you’ll need a suitcase, preferably with wheels. Investing in a high-quality item will reward you with years of use. Checked designs for suitcases are big for 2015; think of variations of the Burberry check. Hard-shelled rolling suitcases in metallic colors are also popular this year, especially those with liquid filled wheels; useful in Venice where they have banned rubber-wheeled suitcases.
Suit-carriers
If you have to look smart abroad there’s nothing better than a suit. Folding suit-carriers are the best way to stay wrinkle free. Traditional dark colors are still the way to go but upmarket versions feature butter-soft dark-brown leather exteriors with removable straps. Look out for those with extra storage room including large front pockets and interior zipped sections. Wheeled versions with extendable handles are available if you don’t fancy using the shoulder strap.
If you can’t get your hands on some Louis Vuitton or Burberry bags then head to your local high street from spring onwards. Variations of the latest designer luggage will be available in stores not too long after they’ve been unveiled on the world’s catwalks.
