NEW YORK, Sep 6, 2014/ — Designer Rebecca Minkoff debuted her Spring/Summer 2015 Collection On the runway in The Theatre at Lincoln Center with a star studded front row set to the music of American alternative pop group Little Daylight on Friday, September 5th.
Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2015 collection looks to iconic photographer Deborah Turbeville, who transformed fashion photography from demure and prim into avant-garde art.
Mixing the sensual and feminine style of Turbeville’s ‘70s work with the photographer’s own irreverent attitude, the line expresses the duality of the modern woman.
The free-spirited and languid nature of Turbeville’s subjects is channeled in the collection through breezy dresses in soft silhouettes, refreshing pastel tops and artfully ruffled skirts.
Cambridge stripes and oxford blues paired with embroidered poplin create a juxtaposition between utility and romance.
The techno mesh and a 3D print hearken back to Turbeville’s penchant for photo manipulation. The collection’s delicate romanticism blended with Turbeville’s confident spirit perfectly speaks to the
Minkoff girl.
Notable Attendees include: Zosia Mamet, AnnaSophia Robb, Jamie Chung, Victoria Justice, Jessica Lowndes, Katie Cassidy, Olivia Palermo, Coco Rocha and Langley Fox Hemingway, among others.
