NEW YORK, Dec 2, 2009 / FW/ — In just 7 days, Lisa Perry, who is known for her whimsical and graphical designs with a touch of retro modern, is opening her 4,000 square-foot ground-lever concept store and design studio at 976 Madison Avenue.
Taking over a former bank space, Lisa utilized the architectural elements and put her whimsical spin and thus came up with an innovative take of the “store window”. Instead of being outside, it is inside. Instead of showing mannequins, the design staff will be taking center stage.
Enclosing the office and with it the design staff in a glass box, it became a life size vitrine, giving onlookers a view of the upcoming season’s collections, inspiration and design boards.
Lisa Perry enthusiasts will also find her signature collection colorful dresses for women and girls as well as handbags in an array of colors, shapes and sizes and home collections that embody Lisa’s upbeat and playful spirit.
Everyday objects in larger-than-life sizes are great gifts and scatter the store interior- playfully popping up among the merchandise.
The store will feature Lisa Perry’s signature fashion collections for women and girls, home furnishings and accessories lines as well as items that have inspired Lisa over the years.
In addition to Lisa Perry’s new collections, shoppers can purchase 1960’s and 70’s vintage items from top design dealers: furniture from Demisch Danant and R 20th Century, photography from Staley-Wise Gallery, jewelry from Robin Katz. Furniture installations plan to rotate every six weeks with the launch of a collection from renowned French designer Pierre Paulin.
Inspired by her passion for 1960’s couture fashion and art, Lisa’s collection combines geometric shapes with bold colors to create a simple, chic aesthetic. Bright clutches, totes and weekend bags are the perfect accent to her collection. F
or the first time ever, customers will now be able to shop Lisa’s personal rare vintage treasures, a classic collection from some of the great designers including Pierre Cardin, André Courrèges, Emilio Pucci, Rudi Gernreich among others.
Customers will also have an opportunity to shop hard-to-find collectables such as Hellerware by Massimo Vignelli and other unique gift items. Prices range from: $20 for small accessories to $295 for large duffel bags, $500 to $1500 for clothing, $2,000 to $15,000 for photography, and $3,000 to $14,000 for furniture.
The Lisa Perry Madison Avenue shop (976 Madison Avenue between 76th and 77th Streets) will be open Monday through Saturday from 10am until 7pm. During the holidays the store will be open 7 days a week.
