NEW YORK, Apr 20, 2011/ — Designer Belinda Pasqua and her new accessories collection, The Sway, will be featured in The GreenShow’s Spring Ecolux Designer Pop-Up Shop at Bloomingdale’s Soho, opening this week in celebration of Earth Day 2011.
Officially launched this spring with the Spring 2011 collection hitting stores now, The Sway consists of beautiful handbags, wallets and jackets, all made from all recycled leathers and lined with recycled cotton.
The Sway’s hangtags, linings and packaging materials, are all made from recycled paper and cotton fibers. The inside of each handbag is lined with The Sway signature black and white ‘Boomerang’ print.
The manufacturing facility where The Sway is produced is powered using advanced natural alternatives. Retail prices range from $132 (small pouch, Barrett) up to $990 (Large fringe bag, Marlo).
Striving to create timeless statement pieces, The Sway is designed with a nod to the abstract and a return to hand-craftsmanship and detail, with each style representing a fusion of texture and practicality.
As Pasqua explains, “The Sway bags are all about form, movement, texture and the divine presence within a space. Inspiration comes to me through the shape, form, definition and detail of an object. I find Fifteenth Century Italian artists and their masterpieces particularly fascinating.”
The Sway is now available at retail stores including Fred Segal, Searle NYC, Kaight NYC and Free People. Ten percent of sales profits from The Sway are donated to charity. The Sway design studio is based in Brooklyn, NY.
