A Salute To The Dallas Center for the Performing Arts
DALLAS, Jun 12, 2004/ FW/ --- Last June 9, two of the world's preeminent architectural firms, Foster and Partners and the
Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), unveiled the concept designs
of Dallas' Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House and Charles and Dee Wyly
Theatre, the Dallas Center for the Performing Arts Foundation announced.
This first public glimpse of the Dallas opera house and theater - the first
of five venues that will comprise the $275 million Dallas Center for the
Performing Arts - will reveal cutting-edge conceptual designs that will set new
standards in the modern performing arts.
When completed in 2009, the Center will offer world-class settings for
performances of opera, musical theater, classic and experimental theater,
ballet, other forms of dance, and first-run Broadway productions.
As Neiman Marcus Salutes the debutantes of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the City
of Dallas is saluting the beginning of a new era in performing arts at the Big D.
