In 1947, H & M started as "Hennes" which is the
Swedish word for "hers" because it only sold women's clothing. In 1968 it changed its name to
Hennes & Mauritz after it acquired Mauritz Widforss. And later it became H&M.
This store window is again part of its extensive
marketing campaign for their Winter 2000 underwear. An open-back window, you can see the whole store
from the sidewalk, making it very attractive to the passerby. Five realistic mannequins circa 1960,
including the hairstyle were again used.
