Adam Jones: A Voyage of Encounters

PARIS, Jul 7, 2005/ FW/ --- When one thinks of a journey across the United States perhaps Route 66 and a convertible Cadillac spring to mind, but Adam Jones takes us on a voyage of encounters with Native American Indians, howling coyotes and the splendor of starry desert nights.

Couturiers often face the difficult task of distinguishing themselves from the more common demi-couture looks appearing on the runway, especially as Haute Couture is an emotion involving touch and close observation. Nonetheless Jone’s debut on the Parisian Haute Couture runway after working under the wings of luxe great John Galliano, works feathers and spins knit into a unique collection worth strong consideration.

Mohair and crochet is woven into delicate coats and jackets. Stars on crinoline flicker under the night sky as his dame carries her rosary beads behind like a treasured keepsake.

Leather trousers and denim are studded and sexy as this determined female knows how to role-play perfectly alternating between wagon dusty trails and femme fatale Indian queen in fox fringing, floral application and Swarovski crystals.

Jacquard and Mexican flavored Flamenco passion, Matador bolero’s and a play on volume accentuate the female silhouette at the waist and hips reminding us that there must always be room made for sensuality and femininity, even if she is wearing chaps.

The howling ceases and nightfall is celebrated and sleep becomes essential, for the passage tomorrow is long.
