Launched last year by Barbara Kramer and Ed Mandelbaum, founders of Designers & Agents, the 2004 winner, Japanese artist Saori Kanda presented live at the D&A Lab show in Tokyo and was subsequently brought to New York to present at D&A Lab Spring Show at the Big Apple.

Tokyo artist Teppie Nakao won the Fall 2004 contest, showing in Tokyo first, then in New York.

Now on its sophomore year, the contest once again will give an artist the opportunity to exhibit his or her work to an international audience.

The winner will receive an expense paid trip with D&A to the Japanese capitol across the world plus be awarded $1,000 in spending cash.

Enriching the contemporaneous sentiment of the D&A shows, the visiting artists-in-residence will be given a prime location during the During Designers & Agents Tokyo Japan Trade Shows from which to create and exhibit their artwork slated on September 28 – 30, 2005
