MILAN, Jan 18, 2007/ FW/ --- With designers making bold statements this season, Valentino wielded his own, proposing the archetypal 21st century gentleman as the man for Fall 2007 and all seasons.
In a collection that was divided into three sections, Valentino offered the ‘white knight’ during the first segment, sending all white ensembles that include a double-breasted trench coat, double-breasted suit, two-button jacket and bomber jacket in snakeskin lined with shearling.
Ties are optional, thin belts are a must and slim fit turtlenecks can be worn in lieu of a regular shirt and tie.
The second group proposed the same looks, yet in pinstripes, slate gray. Trench coats came in black or beige and knitted vests can be worn interchangeably with regular vests for three-piece suits.
The last section were ‘casual and sportive’ with the word ‘casual’ used loosely here because everything still looked polished without a hint of devilishness. Leather pants and jackets made their appearance and so did the fur coats.
Everything looked refined and distinguished all the way down to the tuxedo and smoking jackets. Valentino never missed a beat, because just as always, he never does anything halfway! So, he made sure that the man is well dressed no matter what time of day it is.
