SYDNEY, May 8, 2004/ FW/ --- Maybe its because Toni Maticevski worked for Cerruti in Paris before launching his own label that his collection had a certain European feel to it.

If I were not very aware that I was home in Australia, I would say that I crossed two oceans once again and I was back in Italy’s fashion capital where I currently live.

With tea-stained gown and silk tulle cocktail dresses, and the flirty French maid silk tulle apron worn over a long-sleeved bare-all jacket, Toni Maticevski captured the world famous Italian sensuality.

So, it’s really nice to see my adopted country’s look and feel in my home. And yet, it is also easy to imagine for Toni Maticevski showing in New York, or Paris, even Milan. Or better yet, for him to be snatched up by one of the big fashion houses. Isn’t there an opening in Givenchy?
