Gaultier and De la Fressange to Host Couture Week Charity Dinner
Paris Haute Couture Show Spring 2003
By: Karl Treacy
PARIS, Jan 19, 2003/ FW/ --- Guests at a dinner at Paris' two-star restaurant Pre Catalan
during the couture collections will have the privilege not only of actually seeing fashion
people eating, but of helping charity too.
Next Wednesday, January 22, between 400 and 450 people are expected to sit down to a dinner
in conjunction with the Chambre Syndicale, French fashion's governing body, to benefit AIDS
charities at the restaurant in the Bois du Boulogne park.
At the event, hosted by Jean Paul Gaultier and Ines de la Fressange, tables will be
sponsored by names such as Dior, Lanvin, Rykiel, Yohji Yamamoto and Chanel.
While no entertainment for the dinner has been mentioned at this point, prospective diners
shouldn't feel too disappointed.
Aside from sharing a room with a smorgasbord of fashion movers and shakers, the raffle prizes
look rather promising.
Sponsors like Dior and Hermes are keeping tight-lipped about their prize donations,
but Renault, for one, has announced it will be handing over the keys of a Megane to one
lucky ticket holder.
