DALLAS,May 15, 2003/ FW/ --- On September 12, New York kicks off the Spring 2004 Womenswear international fashion season with the start of the Mercedez-Benz Fashion Week.

Held twice a year (February and September), New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is the country's hottest style summit.

Here are the statistics released by 7th on Sixth, organizers of New York Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the Fall 2003 season. As the saying goes, numbers don't lie!

  • 54 Bryant Park Shows and 23 Off site shows

  • Average length of one show is 17 minutes

  • 5-14 shows per day

  • Average of 1,800 persons attending per show

  • 14,000 persons attend the shows daily

  • Total of 126,000 persons attended the shows over a 9-day period

  • 1800 Registered Press

  • Over 500 International Press from 32 countries

  • 600 Photographers / Video Crews shot 2.5 million rolls of film, adding up to 90 million frames

  • It takes over 400 people 12 days to set up the Bryant Park Tents

  • 96,000 bottles of Evian will be consumed during fashion week

  • 500 volunteers will devote over 3,780 hours of help during fashion week.
