DALLAS, May 25, 2006/ FW/ --- When Famke Janssen and Hugh Jackman arrived for the screening of ‘film 'X-Men: The Last Stand’ at the 59th Cannes Film Festival, both of them looked resplendent in their Versaces.
Donatella’s message for the night, ‘Dressing up is not just the women’s domain. Men are dressing smart, too,’ belying an old Hollywood saying, ‘the best fashion accessory on the red carpet is a good looking escort.’
Donatella Versace dressed Famke Janssen in an ice silver silk jersey evening dress with a draped bodice and Hugh Jackman in a black tuxedo. With both of them just smoldering with sensuality and still looking as elegant as it could be, who is ‘accessorizing’ who?
There’s really no answer to that question simply because today’s generation of men are more fashion conscious than their fathers.
A recent study conducted by Research and Markets revealed that ‘after sales slide from 2000 to 2003, the $47.9 billion men's clothing market has shown improvements in the 2004 and 2005.’
According to the study, “the increased interest and need for suits and tailored clothing, coupled with the increasing sales of sportswear, have supported the category.”
Couple that with the upswing in the luxury market, the Milan Menswear Spring 2007 season, slated from Jun 25th to Jun 30th, 2006 could never be better.
