PARIS, Jul 9, 2005/ FW/ --- Closing the official calendar of the haute couture season, Elie Saab once again broke tradition and opened with a wedding gown, something that is becoming his signature style for his runway shows.
A favorite among the Hollywood set and the royalties of the Middle East, this season, Elie Saab paid homage to the legendary beauties of tinsel town and the aura of elegance that they emit.
From Greta Garbo to Marlene Dietrich, Marilyn Monroe to Sharon Stone, and today’s big screen favorites, Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry, Elie Saab has something for them.
Opting for the rich colors of fall from wine red to turquoise, softened by ecru and old rose, Elie Saab’s beauties floated on the runway. Ethereal and ephemeral, all 56 silhouettes were meant for the evening.
Delicate embroidery and intricate beading, combined with volume and draping, these exquisite creations become real women.
Because that is Elie Saab’s strength – making a dream a reality for the affluent women.
And in their never-ending search for glamour, Elie Saab stands with them, giving them a sublime elegance that is restrained yet with a surprising degree of playfulness and sensuality.
A woman does not have to bare it all to be attractive. In fact, Elie Saab covers them up from head to toe, showing hints of curves and skin, making them more desirable in doing so.
Of course, we are talking about Elie Saab whose growing popularity among the rich and famous has been meteoric in the past few years. With this collection, there will be more knocking at his ateliers in Paris and Lebanon.
