Designing under the label "Akira," Akira Isogawa has been selling his designs at
his own boutique in Sydney in 1993 before he showed at the first Mercedes
Australian Fashion Week in 1996.
Since his first showing, Isogawa has consistently been given favorable reviews
by the fashion editors and was named as Australia's emerging designer in 1996.
The next year, Isogawa was chosen by Australia's Powerhouse Museum to be featured
in its Fashion of the Year Retrospective.
From there on, the designer has gone from strength to strength, his Spring 1998 collection
purchased by Barney's New York and during the same year, he showed in Paris at
Royal Saint Honore.
Akira Spring 2002 showed the the designer's range showing evening dresses that are sure
eye poppers anywhere.
