NEW YORK, Feb 6, 2005 / FW-- Starting out with live music presented by The Blue Van truly set the tone for the show with the models strutting their stuff down the runway to the rock and roll beat playing live in the background.
Divided into two segments, the southern-born designer presented her main line, Anne Bowen Couture and her diffusion line, Black label collection.
The Anne Bowen Collection included 16 looks and was shown with the combination of brilliant celadons and gold as well as olive and crimson, congo and camouflage.
Coats and shrugs were created from authentic military blankets, brass coins and African war pieces.
Metal mesh tanks, reconstructed jeans, cardigan sweaters recycled into halters, ultra feminine dresses and military inspired plush velvet suitings were all matched quite cleverly with big blanket coats, trapper hats of satin & fur and stretch suede over-the-knee boots.
The Black Label was presented in 36 exits. And as Anne Bowen shares in her press release, "The measure of a woman is not defined by dresses or gowns. Suitings exude a tailored expression of inner strength".
Inspired by the raw sexuality of Helmut Newton's photography - a color palette of icy platinum against amber gold, champagne and nude that flowed into bronze and frosted white.
Navy pinstripe paired with barely-there backless lace tops, delicate lace and liquid slip dresses to show off the sexy and slinky silhouette of a woman.
Adding ample details of marquis crystal, semi precious stones, pearls, tiger eye, pale amethyst, gold threaded quartz and whisky citrine all translates to casual, effortless, glamour and timeless.
Keep on rocking Anne Bowen!
