DALLAS, Mar 22, 2005/ FW/ --- Ultra femme and ultra luxe, Alessandro Dell’Acqua captured the feminine message of the season as he created lingerie-inspired daywear and eveningwear for his Fall 2005 collection.
Dell’Acqua who has had an obsession with sheer fabrics and sexy lingerie pieces for as long as we can remember played on his mastery of this genre with metallic slip dresses and empire-waist chiffon minis with the added luxury of fur.
Caftan capes and tailored coats showed that Dell’Acqua has also mastered structured and architectural silhouettes, his superb tailoring shining through.
In a season where mixed messages were sent, the Naples native decided to go with “let the clothes do the talking,” as he opted with minimal adornments and embellishments.
It was his choice of fabric – lace, silk chiffon and metallics that were mixed and matched that eventually became the titivation for each other.
As he created volume and texture with decisive cuts, the result was a very beautiful collection that retail buyers will definitely put on their list to see again when they visit the showrooms.
