MILAN, Sep 27, 2005 /FW/ --- It’s all about the dress, and in fact there were very, very few trousers. Shorts don’t count as trousers. Alberta Ferretti for Philosophy pieces together a Twiggy-like wardrobe, reminiscent of English schoolgirls and soft romance.
Shorthaired models recollect the sixties in sleeveless comfort in a basic colour palette that revolves around white and pastels.
Printed chiffon flows combining femininity and nonchalant sensuality while continuing to play with overlay creating a boxy light silhouette for the Philosophy lady who is always comfortable but never boyish.
Soft and delicate from little tops, tennis style skirts and shorts and knee length pleats even if at times this spring summer 2006 collection is suggestive of pulling out mothers old clothes and piecing them together, there is comfort in the familiarity made into something new.
Collars are added as detail along with crochet shoulder straps and the selective choice of knit leaving subtle metallic flashes for a touch of glamour and flexibility.
Philosophy by Alberta Ferretti is the contrast and effective innocence of the little girl and the need for metropolitan independence, swift yet trouble-free with the right amount of feminine fragility.
